Accessibility at Blvdle

Last updated September 6, 2026

We are improving access to the game. This page explains the controls available today and the limitations we know about; it is not a claim of complete WCAG conformance.

Clues and feedback

Guess feedback includes words, icons, and distance information as well as color: purple means the same state, blue means within 25 miles, and green means the exact city. New guesses and clues are announced through screen-reader status regions. Results include text identifying the destination and milestones.

Text, contrast, and motion

Use Aa in the header for larger interface text, or use your browser’s zoom controls. The moon/sun button switches between light and dark themes. Both settings are remembered on your device when storage is available.

If your operating system or browser requests reduced motion, decorative flashes, card flips, animated button transitions, and animated map travel are disabled. Information and game actions remain available.

Known limitations

The panorama is inherently visual. It currently has no equivalent nonvisual clue describing the scene. The preceding five clues and guess feedback are available as text, but they do not make the panoramic clue equivalent for a blind player. The external viewer may have additional accessibility limitations.

The guess map’s labels and textual guess list offer alternatives to some visual information, but do not replace every detail of its visual layout. Testing with a wider range of assistive technologies is ongoing.
